These amazing beaded baskets and boxes are from Bali, Indonesia. Even the underside of the baskets and boxes are beaded! This Teardrop box is 6 by 4.5 by 2 inches, each is unique and the detail on the underside is equally as amazing as the top. They are beaded over a sturdy rattan frame. Each has the name of the artist and comes with an informative tag. The artists are all women from a single village in Bali, where they are trying to maintain this traditional art. The group takes on apprentices and encourages the young to participate after school to both enable the skills to be transferred and help pay school fees. Colours and designs do vary.
